The Process, Step by Step
- Connect with NFN Auctions: The process starts with a conversation. You tell us what you have, and we assess whether it's a good fit for the auction. Most equipment in working or documented condition qualifies. We'll talk through what to expect and answer any questions before anything moves forward.
- Photos and descriptions: This is the most important step for getting a strong result. Auction Time buyers are making decisions based entirely on what they can see and read, so quality matters here. We work with you to get clear photos of the equipment from multiple angles, including any wear, damage, or notable features, and to confirm the accurate make, model, year, and hours or mileage.
- We list it on Auction Time: Once we have the photos and description, NFN handles the listing. We format everything for the platform, set the auction window, and get it live. Our auctions typically run for approximately two weeks, giving buyers across the country time to find the listing, do their research, and place bids. During the auction window, interested buyers can ask questions through the platform. We monitor those and respond on your behalf.
- Bidding: Auction Time uses a timed online bidding format. As the auction window closes, competitive bidders drive the final price. You can watch activity in real time, and we keep you informed throughout. When the auction closes, the high bidder wins. NFN coordinates the transaction from there, including buyer communication and pickup logistics.
What happens if something doesn't sell?
It happens occasionally. If an item doesn't meet expectations, we can re-lot it in a future auction, or you can take it back. We'll talk through the options and figure out what makes sense.
